ARTISTIC DIRECTOR: SHARON HELDT
TEACHING CREDENTIALS:
A drama teacher for over 24 years, Sharon Heldt has experience teaching all age groups from SK - grade 12 and has directed & been a dramaturge for over 40 children's productions. Sharon also teaches Adult Improv in South Etobicoke at the Mimico Presbyterian Church.
Sharon has been a guest director for ESA (Etobicoke School of the Arts): RAISE YOUR VOICE (2019), CABARET (2018), ON BROADWAY (2017) & A CHORUS LINE (2016).
Sharon has also had the pleasure of directing many colleagues from Toronto/Stratford musicals in the Jewish Festival's production of THE KIDS FROM BROOKLYN. It was a huge hit at the George Weston Recital Hall at the North York Performing Arts Centre.
Most recently, in February 2020, Sharon directed FIDDLER ON THE ROOF for Etobicoke School of the Arts. Four different casts!
Sharon's teaching experience includes several other venues including, YPT (Arts Educator/ 20 years/ Toronto/North York/Etobicoke locations), ZAMARTS (Acting Instructor/ 20 years/Hamilton), ESA (Musical Director-6 years), Cawthra High School ( 7 years- Guest Director) Queen Elizabeth P.S. (7 years-Guest Artist/ Mississauga) and various schools within the TDSB. Sharon is also currently an adjudicator for the formally named Sears Drama Festival (Ontario DramaFest).

PROFESSIONAL ACTOR:
As a professional actor in theatre/ film / television Sharon has over 38 years experience in the business. A graduate of Humber College Theatre Arts Program, Sharon is equally at home in comedy/ drama and the musical theatre stage. Sharon has worked all over Canada, most notably the Stratford Festival, Blyth Festival, Grand Theatre, Theatre Aquarius, Manitoba Theatre Company, Banff Advanced Actors’ Workshop, Tarragon Theatre, Factory Theatre, Theatre Passe Muraille, Buddies in Bad Times, Drayton Festival, Theatre Collingwood, Lighthouse Festival Theatre and the last season on the treasured Red Barn stage in Jackson’s Point.
Sharon also spent some time over the border performing in the New York City's Musical Theatre Festival (NYCMF) with Top Gun! The Musical.
Film and T.V. credits include, Queer as Folk (Showtime), Avenging Angelo (Warner Brothers), Missing (Showtime), More Tears (CBC), and Borrowed Hearts (CBS). Sharon also belongs to a singing group, DIVA MOMS, a professional group hired for community events. You may have seen us over the years in Mardi Gras in South Etobicoke!
